A steel measuring tape in a leather case. The tape is graduated in inches, with the smallest division at 1/8". There is a small metal ring at the end of the tape. A circular metal piece sits in the centre of the case and runs through the width. The top of the case is stamped with the words: "CHESTERMAN"; "J. C."; "SHEFFIELD"; "ENGLAND". The back shows the words: "RMAN"; "J. C."; SHEFFIE(LD)"; "D". The metal medallion reads "50FT". The letters "L L" are carved into the case by hand. The metal piece appears to be hinged, but will no longer open.
