Description

A sickle with a wooden handle and a long curved blade. The handle is made of a neutral brown hardwood with a circular cross section. It tapers lightly near the blade to form a comfortable grip. The iron blade extends outward and up, forming a parabolic curve perpendicular to the handle. It tapers to a blunt point at the very end.

History

Sickles are agricultural tools used for cutting grain or tall grass. The blade is sharpened on the inside of the hook, so it can grab the stock and cut it in one motion. The earliest sickles are dated back to the Stone Age.
