Description

Metal dividers composed of two arms connected with a pivot hinge at one end. Each arm tapers to a blunt point. The point of each arm curves in toward the other. The hinge is seized and can no longer be adjusted.

History

Dividers are measurement instruments. They can be opened and closed against work surfaces to measure and replicate lengths. Some dividers will include a scribe or a pencil to mark surfaces.
