Description

Metal compass plane that is comprised of three parts.
a - The base of the plane is oblong in shape, with moving components in the middle that can be altered with an adjustment screw on top. The top adjustment screw is circular in shape and cast on top are the words "Victor No. 20". Cast below on the body are the words "Pat'd // 2-7-93", while "Stanley" is stamped on the toe. The concave interior of the base includes the bed or frog of the plane, where the double iron (part c) sits. Cast into the top of the interior is the letter "B". The bottom is flat and has a fixed rectangular mouth in the centre. The bottom can be adjusted to be slightly more convex with the use of the adjustment screw on top.
b - The cap iron that is used to secure the blade (part c) in place. The cap iron base is rectangular, with a rounded point at the top. The top point has a small curved handle attached at the back. A circular hole to is located in the centre, to attach the part to the plane base.
c- The double plane iron or blade of the plane. It is rectangular in shape, with a rectangular hole in the centre through the length of the blade. There is a circular screw through the middle that attaches a second blade. The top of the blade is stamped with "Stanley // Pat. Apl 19.92
