A metal block plane that is comprised of six parts.
a - The base of the plane is oblong shaped with a fixed mouth on a flat base.
b - A brass depth adjustment lever at the back of the plane that screw into the base of the plane (part a).
c - The iron blade of the plane that slots into the interior of the plane, and is secured by the depth adjustment lever and another adjustment screw.
d - The cap iron that is used to secure the blade in place.
e - The wedge that is used between the iron blade (part c) and the cap iron (part d) to help hold them in place.
