Wooden molding plane comprised of three parts, the rectangular wooden body (a), the wooden wedge piece (b), and the iron/blade (c). The iron and wedge fit together inside of the hollow portion of the body piece and extend out of the top of the plane. The sole is concave and there is a concave cutout along the back of the plane and on the back of the iron. Stamped on the heel of the plane is "I BLOWER" and "NO 372". Stamped on the toe edge is "I BLOWER", "E. BERNIER", and "B.BOSSE". Stamped on the iron is "IIX" and "HUMPHREYSVILLE WARRANTED".
Hollow molding planes are extremely versatile. They are used to cut concave grooves in any portion of a workpiece. Used alone or in conjunction with other planes, hollow molding planes allow workers to create or adjust any conceivable form.
