The grip portion is positioned lower than the point of attachment between handle and blade. 4 brass dowels run through the width and secure the blade into the handle. The blade is very wide and extends far below the handle. It tapers slightly toward the free end. The blade has a plain tooth pattern along the lower edge. There are 3 teeth per inch (TPI). A stamp on the handle reads "J. BUCHAN".
