Description

A shield shaped wooden plaque that has the pre-amalgamation coat of arms for the city of Kingston, Ontario mounted on it. There is a white and red metal banner across the top of the plaque that reads "City of Kingston". Below the banner is a gold coloured beaver on top of a knights helmet. The helmet rests on a red shield with a single gold crown above a Martello Tower and waves. A lion and a griffin standing on either side of the shield as supporters. There is a banner under the feet of the lion and the griffin, it has the city's former motto "Pro Rege Grege Et Lege" in gold lettering. The back of the plaque has a key hole shaped groove at the top.
