Description
This is a paper place mat. Printed on it are illustrations of 4 different events (Frontenac Landing, Loyalists' Arrival, Bradstreet Capture of Fort Frontenac, and Confederation), each of which are labeled and separated by a black border. Written on the place mate is "Come Join Us for Our 300th Birthday". In the middle of the place mat is a circular, white logo that says in black text, "HISTORIC PAST // 16/97300 // KINGSTON // PROMISING FUTURE". The reverse side is blank.
History
The Kingston Tercentenary was a commemoration of the 300th anniversary of Frontenac’s landing in Canada around the Kingston area. There was a year-long celebration of the first European settlement in 1973.
