Description

A handmade quilt with a gold / yellow coloured background depicting 26 crests of selected Italian cities along the perimeter of a gold shield. These include cities such as Genova, Bari, Bologna, Pisa, Firenze, Campobasso, Aosta, Avellino, Palermo etc. In the centre is a black coloured Roman eagle that is framed by a green laurel wreath and the Roman military emblem with the acronym "S.P.Q.R." (Senatus Populus Que Roman). Quilted in the lower corners are a caraval (representing Columbus) and St. Peter's keys (representing Vatican City); in the upper centre is a Venetian gondola.

This quilt was created in 1994. It depicts 26 crests of Italian regions which are likely the regions that the club members are from. These include cities such as Genova, Bari, Bologna, Pisa, Firenze, Campobasso, Aosta, Avellino, Palermo etc.
