Plaque

A metal badge of the HMCS Summerside mounted on a rectangular shaped wooden plaque. The badge is circular with a gold painted outside edge resembling a rope and 3 gold maple leaves at the central bottom of the edge. The centre of the badge has a red background with a yellow sun rising on it and oak trees in the foreground on a patch of grass. At the top of the badge, there is a gold coloured crown with the sterns of 3 ships that have 2 white sails between them. Below the crown is the word "SUMMERSIDE" in yellow lettering mounted on a red background. On the central bottom of the wooden plaque is a small gold coloured metal plate that reads "Presented by The Commanding Officer and Crew of HMCS SUMMERSIDE". The back of the plaque has a key shaped groove at the top.
