Description

a- This is a carbon copy of a letter to Mr. John Mills of Toronto. It acknowledges the letter that enclosed photographs of the Rideau King and Rideau Queen were received. It is single sided. It is dated April 23rd, 1951. b- This is a letter from John Mills to Mr. Horsey. It is dated April 18, 1951. It explains that Mr. Noonan loaned some photographs of the boats. He had copies made as well as enlargements for making models. He enclosed the smaller prints with the letter. c- This is a carbon copy of letter to John Mills. It is dated September 19th, 1950. It is one sided. It is an attempt to find images of the steamboats the Rideau King and Rideau Queen. It suggests reaching out to a Mr. W. F. Noonan of Hamilton, as his father was the owner and operators of the boats, and to a Mr. Roy F. Fleming of Ottawa who does research into Ottawa and the Rideau area. The back of the paper has a logo for "SIMCOE / Typewriter / PAPERS" as well as ordering information for more. d- This is a letter from John Mills to Mr. Horsey. It is dated Sept. 14, 1950. It explains that his name was given as an authority on local history, and he is interested in getting images of Rideau King and Rideau Queen, two steamers that had been on the canal, for the sake of building a model. There are pencil notes written in the margins. The one at the top explains the original name of the Rideau King boat. The one at the middle is the contact information for a Roy F. Fleming. The note at the bottom is the contact information for a W. F. Noonan.
