a-c- This is a typed carbon copy of a letter to the Editor of the Whig Standard. It is dated August 17th, 1951. It talks about the authenticity of Simcoe House.The pages are one sided, but part a has a false start to the letter on the back of part a. The letter argues that Simcoe House was the first meeting place in Canada, but hasn't been marked properly. It is being considered historic because of tradition, but the evidence that it was the first meeting place of a Canadian "parliament" is more convincing than that it wasn't. d- This is a newspaper clipping of the published letter to the editor from a Mr. H.W. Walker of Frontenac Coach Lines LTD. It is titled "IS "SIMCOE HOUSE" / AUTHENTIC?" The letter explains that Simcoe House has been omitted from tours because there has not been satisfactory evidence to prove it was the first meeting place of the executive council. e- This is a newspaper clipping of a letter to the editor from H.W. Walker. It discusses Simcoe House and is titled that "Doubt still remains". It argues that since the evidence isn't concrete, and more rooted in tradition, so it will not be included on the tours. The article is dated in ink "27-8-51" above the headline. f- This is a newspaper clipping of a letter to the editor. It is titled "SIMCOE HOUSE: ANSWER TO / MR. WALKER". It is the published copy of the letter in parts a-c. It has the final two paragraphs glued at the bottom.
