Description

a-b- This is a carbon copy of a letter to the Associate Editor of the Whig-Standard. It is dated November 26th, 1951. It is about a correction to an article that said a bank note worth one dollar was published in 1812, when in fact it was from 1842. It goes on to explain some parts of the early banking systems in Upper Canada and how that related to the developments of the Town Council. c- This is a newspaper clipping of an article titled, "Half a Century Ago". There are inked lines around the part of the article that is from the letter. d- This is a newspaper clipping. It is a published letter to editor, and contains the other half of the letter that wasn't published in part c. e- This is a newspaper clipping of an article titled "Kingston Dollar Returned After 31 Years". It has images of some bank notes, as well as acknowledges the correction made by Edwin Horsey.
