Description

a-b- These are two, single sided, carbon copied pages. They make up a letter to the Editor of the Whig Standard. It is dated January 4th, 1952. It speaks to the Growth of Kingston and the extension of streets after the annexation of several villages in the township into the city. It argues that one of the issues with the streets of the past was that there wasn't a cohesive plan once new villages were added to the city, and that we must not repeat history. It offers some suggestions for extending streets to help ease the flow of traffic. There are edits made in pen.
c- This is a newspaper clipping of an editorial titled "Kingston's Recurring Growing Pains and Traffic Troubles". It summarizes the ideas in the letter to the editor, and encourages them to be considered.
d- This is a newspaper clipping. It is the printed copy of the letter in a-b. It is glued together in two places so it is a continuous strip of paper, rather than the three columns it was printed as. It is titled, "NEW MAIN OUTLETS NEEDED / FOR ENLARGED KINGSTON".
