This is an envelope and two invitations to a civic dinner. a- This is an invitation to the Civic Dinner. It is a single (one sided) page of white card stock. There is a gold coat of arms in the upper middle of the invitation, as well as black text. The text reads, in full, “Her Majesty The Queen / and / His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh / will be present / The Mayor and Aldermen of The City of Kingston / request the pleasure of the company of / _____ / at Dinner / on Wednesday, the twenty-seventh day of June / nineteen hundred and seventy-three / at seven-thirty o’clock / Leonard Hall Queen’s University / Dinner Jacket / R.S.V.P. by May 30, 1973 / Royal Visit / Municipal Offices, / 86 Clarence Street, / Kingston, Ontario.” The reverse side is blank. b- This is a red ticket for the Civic Dinner. It is made of red card stock and has a black coat of arms at the centre-top and black text. c- This is a reminder to reply. It is on a small white piece of card stock. It has black text that reads, in full, “It is necessary that a reply be / received not later than May 30th / failing which it will be assumed / that the invitation is Not being / accepted.” The reverse side is blank. d- This is a small reminder to bring a red ticket to the Civic Dinner. It is white card stock with black text that reads, in full, “It is necessary to present / the attached admittance card / at the entrance to / Leonard Hall, Queen’s University.” e- This is an invitation to the Civic Dinner.
