Silver tray presented to LL Henderson. Engraved on the centre of the tray is, " Presented to L.L. Henderson on his departure from the City by The Kingston Board of Trade April 26th 1909". The makers marks are on the front of the tray as follows: a crown for the city of Sheffield, a lion for Sterling Silver, and a lower case N as the date mark for 1905.
Lawrence Leopold Henderson (1866 - 1938) began as a clerk with the Montreal Tranportation Company in 1884 and by 1909 had become general manager. He was president and managing director during the company's reorganization in 1916. The Kingston Board of Trade presented this sterling silver tray to Henderson in recognition of his contributions to local businesses.
