a- This is a large wood and leather chair. It has a black leather seat, back, and arms with varnished and polished wood legs, back and top. There is metal studded detailing. At the top there is an Ontario coat of arms. There is a lion on each top corner of the chair back, and a fleur-de-lis in the middle. b- This is an ottoman with a black leather cover, carved wooden legs, and round metal studs attaching the leather to the base. The ottoman has a curve to it's back. The legs are wood and taller on one side than the other to accomodate the curve.
Also known as the "Mayor's Chair". This chair was used by Thomas Ashmore Kidd 1889-1973 when Mr. Kidd was Speaker of the House in the Ontario Legislature (1930-1934).
