Description
This is a black painted, wooden No. 210 Ligna chair. The chair has bentwood arms, and nylon caning on the back and seat with flared legs. There are metal feet, and metal corner braces holding the legs in place. There is a white painted makers mark on the front of the underside of the chair that says "LIGNA // MADE IN // CZECHOSLOVAKIA".
History
The no. 210 bentwood chair was designed by Thonet around 1900. This chair was produced in the 1960s by Ligna in Czechoslovakia, a former Thonet factory that was nationalized after World War II.
