Magneto

The artifact is part of an ignition system of internal combustion engine. It uses a magnetic field to produce an electric spark, which explodes gasoline vapour in a cylinder of engine, enabling it to function.
The main body of the artifact is a copper coloured metal cylinder. Inside the cylinder, there is a moving shaft made up of metal threads. It is attached to a square metal base that can be bolted down. The metal tag on the instrument reads, "The Hercules Electric Co. Patented Sep.20.1904. Manufacturers of Wizard Magnetos Indianapolis, IND. No.192628 Type BC1".
