Description

a- This is a brown hardcover book. The front and back covers are plain. There is gold lettering on the spine that reads "BYGONE DAYS AND BYGONE WAYS BY ALICE TAIT HOGEBOOM". The book is a social history of rural Ontario in the 1930s, and follows the narrative of Abigail Holt Lovelace, a teacher. The inside cover has a pen note that says "Enjoy Reading / Alice T. Hogeboom". Above that is a pencil note that says "64525 / 5/12/79 / 5". b- This is a yellow and orange book jacket. On the front panel there is brown lettering that reads "Bygone Days and Bygone Ways by Alice Tait Hogeboom". The background is a stylized image of a rural setting. On the front panel it is yellow, on the back it is orange. The front flap has an author portrait and a few paragraphs that surmise the book. Some of the words have been crossed out. The back flap is plain white. c- This is a page from the book. Page 217 talks about the cheerful mood of an operating room in an attempt to calm a child getting treatment. Page 218 talks about the child returning home, and the start of the war.
