Description

A commemorative certificate to the Second Regiment Royal Canadian Horse Artillery (RCHA) that is housed in a wooden frame, with gold coloured liner, white mat and glass front. This certificate is from the Cooperation of the City of Kingston, which confirms and grants "The Freedom of the City" and the rights to the Second Regiment Royal Canadian Horse Artillery. It is signed and sealed on July 16, 1983. On the central top of the certificate is Kingston's coat of arms with a griffin on the left, a lion on the right, a Martello Tower and a crown in the middle. There are illustrations of gold leaves on the left edge and a uniformed soldier on the bottom right edge of the certificate. On the bottom of the certificate, there is a gold stamp with embossed words that read "THE SEAL OF THE CITY OF KINGSTON// ONTARIO". There are hand-written signatures of the City Treasurer, the Mayor and the City Clerk. There is a paper backing on the back of the frame. There are two holes for hanging on the upper and lower part of the edges of the frame on both the left and right sides.
