In the central middle ground is the facade of Kingston City Hall, with other historic limestone buildings visible to the left and open space to the right of City Hall. The upper half of the composition consists of a cloudy blue sky. The painting is signed "Keirstead 71" in dark grey paint in the lower right corner. The painting is housed in a contemporary painted wood and gilt frame. Plain tan back edge, back ogee edge; gilt astragal top edge, dark fluted bead, struck moulding, wide linen frieze, beveled sight edge.
