This is a framed certificate. It grants the coat of arms to the City of Kingston. The hand-written illuminated certificate is mounted above three gold medallions. Each of the medallions has a crown in the middle and is attached to the certificate by a blue ribbon. The coat of arms is located on the top left corner of the certificate, featuring a griffin on the left, a lion on the right, a Martello Tower and a crown on the middle. There are hand-written signatures in black ink on the bottom edge of the certificate. This certificate is framed in a gilded wooden frame that has a glass front. There is a hanging wire in place at the back.
