This is a framed print sketch. There are three men illustrated by black pastel or crayon rubbing. The central figure is a European man who wears a hat and reaches out with his left arm. On the left side of the painting is an indigenous man, and on the right side is a priest carrying a cross. On the bottom of the painting, there are inscriptions in black lettering that read "Founding Fort Frontenac in Cataraqui, July, 1673". There is a gold signature of "Fed Wakeling" on the bottom right corner. The print has a wooden frame with a glass cover and is painted gold on the front. The top, bottom and sides of the frame are painted black.
