a- This is a red, hard-cover book. The cover is plain. The spine has gold text that reads, "RCHA - RIGHT OF THE LINE / MITCHELL". The back cover is also plain. The book gives an anecdotal History of the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery from 1871. It is sorted into 4 parts: Founding Years, First World War and Inter-War Years, The Second World War, and Post World War Years. There are also several maps and sketches throughout the book. b- This is a book jacket. The front panel has read text that reads, "RCHA - RIGHT OF THE LINE / Mjor G.D. Mitchell, MC,CD". In the lower right corner there is a purple diagonal line with a singular red chevron line through it. The main photo of the front panel is the centre piece from "A Bty 1 RCHA", which is a water colour montage by RA artist Joan Wanklyn. It was commissioned by the 1st regiment RCHA. It depicts an 18 pounder gun team led by a section officer through the main gate of the Fort Frontenac Barracks (credit is on the copyright page of the book). The spine of the dust jacket is red with black text that reads, "RCHA - RIGHT OF THE LINE / MITCHELL".
