This is a hardcover book. On the front cover, there is a coloured photograph of a snow scene, in which people are walking on snow in between cars. The title of the book in white texts is located on the bottom, reads "The Ice Storm An Historic Record in Photographs of January 1998, With a Text by Mark Abley". The spine is black, it has white texts read "Mark Abley", "The Ice Storm 1998" and a logo of the M&S on the bottom. On the back cover, there are three pictures of the ice storm. From left to right, they are: a window with icicles on the top, a man carrying a burning candle, and a steel frame in the snow. There is a text on the top right of the back cover to introduce the book. The text in the book is written by Mark Abley, and the photographs are taken by various news photographers from nine Canadian newspapers. It was published by the McClelland & Steward Inc. in 1998. This book is a photographic documentation of the January ice storm that greatly affected the eastern Canada and the northeastern United States. It includes news photographs featuring people's experience and struggles of the ice storm in the affected Canadian communitiies.
