This is a hardcover dark red book. On the front cover, there is a title in golden lettering that reads "The Capital List". Under the title is a golden horizontal line. The spine has "GL", "The Capital List" and "1978" written in golden lettering. The back cover is a plain and dark red surface. The copyright page specifies that the book is published by the Capital List Limited in Ottawa in 1978. There are various editors of the book. The book lists more than 1,500 biographies of residents that lived in the National Capital Region, who all came from different social backgrounds. The entries are organized alphabetically by the last name of the resident, including their name, occupation, birth place, education, business address, telephone and residence.
