Description

a- This is a hardcover book. The front cover is black, with a hard material close to the spine, and a traditional woven material on the rest of the cover. There is gold text that reads, "ANDRE BIELER / AN ARTIST'S / LIFE AND TIMES". There is a stylized gold image of a building. The spine is black with gold text that reads, "ANDRE BIELER / AN ARTIST'S LIFE AND TIMES / BY FRANCES K. SMITH". There is a gold "M" in a square at the bottom of the spine. The back cover is plain, with the same material shift as the front. The book is about the life and work of Canadian artist Andre Bieler. It is volume 174 of a Limited Fine Art Edition. It is signed by the artist and Francis K Smith author on page 3. There are 30 colour plates throughout the book, and 84 black and white plates. The colour plates are protected by an insert of clear copy paper. b- This is a print. It is an original serigraph entitled "Mon Voisin". It is numbered 176/225, titled, and signed by Andre Bieler just below the print. The print features an image of a portrait of a man in a hat, in tones of orange, with blue and orange in the background. In the bottom right corner of the paper there is an embossed M in a square. The reverse side is blank. c- This is an envelope. It contains the serigraph. It is made of a grey card stock. On the front of the envelope there is a grey line image of a building. Under the image is the grey text "ANDRE BIELER / AN ARTIST'S / LIFE AND TIMES". The back of the envelope is plain. d- This is the hard case for the book. It is made of a black, fabric wrapped card board. There is no decoration on the box.
