A book entitled "Paavo Nurmi: The Flying Finn" written by Sulo Kolkka and Helge Nygren. The book was published by Kustannusosakeyhtio Otavan Painolaitok set in Keuruu in 1974. a- A book with a white hard cover and a white flat spine. On the book cover, the debossed texts reads "Paavo Nurmi", and the black text on the spine reads " Sulo Kolkka and Helge Nygren Paavo Nurmi". The back of the cover is white and plain. On the inside of book cover are the grey graphics of a running man. The book has 95 pages, and it is written in Finnish with English translation. It contains a collection of photographs telling the story of Paavo Nurmi, who was a Finnish runner with outstanding achievements in the twentieth century. b- A cream-coloured dust cover of the book. On the cover, the black texts read "Sulo Kolkka and Helge Nygren", "Paavo Nurmi Lentava Suomalainen/The Flying Finn" and "OTAVA". There is also a black-and-white image of a naked runner. On the back of the dust cover is the compliment of Paavo Nurmi from Urho Kekkonen, the President of Finland. The compliment is written in both Finnish and English.
Paavo Johannes Nurmi (1897-1973) (Finnish pronunciation: [ˈpɑːʋo ˈnurmi]; 13 June 1897 – 2 October 1973) was a Finnish middle-distance and long-distance runner. He was called the "Flying Finn" or the "Phantom Finn", as he dominated distance running in the early 20th century. Nurmi set 22 official world records at distances between 1500 metres and 20 kilometres, and won nine gold and three silver medals in his twelve events in the Olympic Games. At his peak, Nurmi was undefeated for 121 races at distances from 800 m upwards. Throughout his 14-year career, he remained unbeaten in cross country events and the 10,000 m.
