The book has a green hard cover and a green flat spine. It was compiled and published by the British Publishing Company Limited in Gloucester England in 1989. On the front of the book cover, the golden text reads "1889-1989 Hampshire Centenary Guide" and there is a golden cow inside a diamond-shaped logo. The back of the green book cover is plain. Inside the cover on the front page, there is a hand-written inscription reads "To the City Council of Kingston From the Hampshire Youth Concert Band, England / 7 August 1990". The book has 177 pages, starting with tourist and business information of the Hampshire County. The main part of the book introduces the history, landscape, buildings, economy, community, art and heritage of the Hampshire County with the illustration of coloured photographs.
