Description

A creamed coloured soft covered book entitled "Historic Homes of Watertown 100 Years or Older". The front cover has a printed black-and-white photograph of Gov.Roswell P. Flower Mansion on the middle section of the cover. On the top of the photo is the title of the book in black lettering, reads "HISTORIC HOMES OF WATERTOWN 100 YEARS OR OLDER (A Bicentennial project of the Watertown Preservation and Restoration Bicentennial Committee)". On the central bottom edge of the front cover is "Sponsored by the Watertown Rotary Club" in black texts. The back cover is plain and in cream colour. There is a hand-written inscription in black ink, reads "To Her Worship Helen Cooper// Mayor of Kingston Ontario on her visit to The Watertown Rotary Club of Watertown, NY - Burg Walker// Mayor of Watertown & Past President// april 5, 1989". The front page indicates that this copy is a 1980 reprint. This book features homes in Watertown that are 100 years or older with a series of black-and-white photographs. The book is divided into 3 sections, followed by 40 homes (photographed by David F. Lane) that are still standing in Watertown, 10 homes with considerable historical significance, and homes with surviving material and photographic documents that are submitted to the Watertown Bicentennial Commission's Preservation and Restoration Committee.
