a- This is a hardcover black book. The front and back covers both have a plain black surface. The spine has silver texts that read "ANDRE BIELER/AN ARTIST'S LIFE AND TIMES/FRANCES K.SMITH". There is a logo of the letter "M" inside a square on the bottom of the spine. On the cover page, there is a hand-written inscription, reads " November 19, 1980 / Presented to the City of Kingston / Merritt Publishing Co. Ltd." The copyright page indicates that the book was published by Merritt Publishing Company in 1980. The text is written by Frances K.Smith. This book is about the life and work of Canadian artist Andre Bieler, highlighting Bieler's effort in creating Canadian scenes. It includes both black-and-white and coloured illustrations of Bieler's work. b- This is a grey book jacket. On the middle of the front jacket is Andre Bieler's painting, Les Berlines, Quebec 1928.
