This is a rawhide and wood embroidery piece. It is an oval piece of rawhide stretched between a round wooden frame made from bent branches. The lettering is embroidered into the rawhide in red thread. It reads, " ᐙᒋᔮ // GREETiNGS // TO // 1673 KiNGSTON 1973 // FROM // MOOSE FACTORY". The rawhide is attacked to the frame by strips of rawhide. The wooden frame is also attached by pieces of rawhide. There is a satin backing on the rawhide and a strip of rawhide along the back for hanging.
This embroidery piece was a Tercentenary gift from the City of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan to the City of Kingston in celebration of its founding by French settlers in 1673.
