A HMCS Ottawa metal crest mounted on a wooden plaque. The crest is circular in shape with a painted gold edge resembling a robe. There are 3 maple leaves at the bottom of the edge, followed by 1 red and 2 greens. The centre of the crest has a red background with 5 wavy diagonal lines in a repeating white and blue pattern. On top of the wavy lines is a gold coloured beaver with a birch branch. At the top of the crest is a gold crown with the sterns of 3 ships in it and 2 white sails between the ships. Below the crown, there is the word "Ottawa" in red lettering on a white background. The back of the plaque has a plain wooden surface.

Symbolism_Badge: The beaver on a log of wood is taken from the unofficial pre-war and war-time badge of HMCS Ottawa. The white and blue wavy bend represents the Ottawa River after which the ship is named. The red field is a reference to the Aboriginal Outaouais people, “redskin” being a term in common use when the badge was first designed.
