Description

This is a varnished wood plaque. It has two metal pieces attached to the plaque. The top is a metal banner with red text that reads "KINGSTON & ST. ANDREW CORPORATION". On the lower part of the of the plaque is a coat of arms. It consists of a lion and a man with a bow holding a shield. Above the shield is a sun and two blue and silver plumes. The shield has a St. Andrews cross splitting it into four sections. The top spot has a bee, the two sides have books, and the lower section has a metal tower. Under the shield is a banner with red text that reads, "A CITY WHICH HATH FOUNDATIONS". The reverse side has a stand so the plaque can stand upright, as well as hanging hardware.

History

The Kingston and Saint Andrew Corporation (KSAC) is a unit of local government in Jamaica. It was formed in 1923 when the parishes of Saint Andrew and Kingston were administratively merged.
