On one side it says "MADE IN U.S.A." and on the other it says "MACBETH B9 12." b- A red and white cardboard box which houses the glass. It has three areas that have been wrapped in tape. The manufacturers information is on the outside of the box, "B9 MACBETH REFLEX GAUGE GLASS T.M. REG US PAT OFF PYREX MADE IN U.S.A. BY CORNING GLASS WORKS, CORNING, N.Y." One side has "14674-B9" written on it in pen. c- Paper instructions for installing and operating the glass. It goes over the three kinds of gauge glass (Plain, High Pressure, and Reflex), the installation best practises. It is printed in black and red ink. d,e- Two flat oblong pieces of plastic, that are the same size as the outer edge of the gauge glass. They are a black, and one side is plain, the other has lines indicated every 2.5 cm. f- One of the end tabs from the box. It is red and white, and has a deep fold to it.
Reflex glass allows light striking the area of the glass covered by liquid to pass to the interior of the gauge so the area appears dark. Light striking the open space above the liquid level is reflected back to the observer, so that area appears silvery similar to a mirror.
