A brass instrument for obtaining a diagram of the pressure-volume or pressure-time changes in a steam engine or compression cylinder during the working cycle. The instrument is mounted in a wooden case with Several loose pieces at the bottom of the case. a- A rectangular case with a wooden and metal handle, brass hinges and internal fitting and hook fastenings. There is a plaque on the front contains the marker's information, "McInnes Brothers, Glasgow". Inside the box, there is a wooden plane with lines on the top and some instruments that are securely attached to the bottom. b- A metal pipe with a threaded end and a black handle. c- A wooden stick with fibers on one end. d- A wooden ruler with stamped letters of "NO.1 8 TO THE INCH ELLIOTT BROS LONDON." e- A wooden ruler with stamped letters of "NO.11 64 TO THE INCH ELLIOTT BROS LONDON". f- A spring with stamped "C" "150" and "1/48". g- A spring with stamped "C", "32''" and "72". h- A spring with stamped "15 10" and "1/8". i- A spring with stamped "1/24" and "15 60". j-v- Identical one-sided paper forms for the engine indicator, titled "FURNESS. WITHY & CO., LTD." The back of the paper is empty for diagrams to be taken.
