Description

A metal instrument for obtaining a diagram of the pressure-volume or pressure-time changes in a steam engine or compression cylinder during the working cycle. The instrument is mounted in a wooden case with several loose pieces of the instrument in the bottom of the case. a- A rectangular case with brass hinges and internal fittings, a metal handle and hook fastenings. It is a Richards Indicator produced by Elliott Brothers. b- A piece of yellowed paper with a printed title of "Oct.6/30 Richards Indicator No 6454". c- A pad of paper with red edge on the side and a piece of sticky note paper with "403" on it. d- A piece of paper with black stains on its top. e- a piece of paper with a cardboard support. f-l - Pieces of paper that are slightly yellowed.
