Description
This is a circular brass steam pressure gauge. The gauge has a brass casing, a movable metal arrow and glass front. The measurements on the gauge are from 0 to 200. On the surface of the gauge is "McKELVEY & BIRCH // KINGSTON, ONT. // NATIONAL STEAM SPECIALTY CO. // CHICAGO." On the front of the bronze casing below the gauge face, there are two screws and a threaded end.
History
McKelvey & Birch was a Kingston, Ontario firm that specialized in hardware, plumbing, and heating. It was originally located on Wellington Street and later moved to Brock Street in 1974 and again to a different address on Brock Street in 1885.
