A framed certificate. The frame is painted wood with a knot detail on the edge. The certificate reads "CERTIFICATE NUMBER 20452 Serial No 7937 ONTARIO DEPARTMENT OF LABOUR FORM 7 THE OPERATING ENGINEERS ACT, 1965 CERTIFICATE OF QUALIFICATION This is to certify THAT W. M. Prentice IS ISSUED THIS CERTIFICATE OF QUALIFICATION AS A STATIONARY ENGINEER THIRD CLASS UNDER The Operating Engineers Act AND THE REGULATIONS THEREUNDER. THIS CERTIFICATE REMAINS IN FORCE DURING THE YEAR 1971 AND UNTIL THE DATE OF RENEWAL OR THE 31ST DAY OF JANUARY 1972, WHICHEVER OFFURS FIRST. There is a purple sticker in the bottom left corner, which reads "DEPARTMENT OF LABOUR ONTARIO OPERATING ENGINEERS BOARD". The certificate number, name, "23rd September 71" and two signatures are added in pen. The serial number is in red ink. The coat of arms of Ontario is in the middle of the top edge of the certificate. On the reverse side there is a cardboard backing being held in place by 9 nails (one is missing). There is a dark blue sticker on the backing that says "PHOTOGRAPHER HAMILTON STUDIO COLLINGWOOD, ONT. FILMS. PICTURE FRAMING".
