Description
A representation of a skirmish from the Upper Canada Rebellion (1836-37). In the lower left foreground military officers in blue tunics on horses (one horse and rider fallen) fight with two men on land, and several other men in boats in the lower right foreground, with swords, rifles, and pistols. In the centre background is a long wooden structure beside a large tree hanging over the water, with a second building further back and to the left. "ATTACK & DEFEAT OF THE REBELS // at // DICKINSON [sic] LANDING UPPER CANADA" is in black ink, in the print at lower right.
