Description

A streetscape / architectural rendering of a wood frame and wood-sided house fronting onto a dirt road. In the immediate foreground is a dirt road with a sidewalk along its opposite side. Beyond a narrow strip of grass is a stone pinnacle monument on the left, a mature tree to its right behind a black metal railing, a headstone further to the right and, at the centre of the composition, a low wood-sided structure with two windows in its gable end and two low windows flanking a doorway with a stoop on its streetside facade. At the right of the composition, connected to the first building, is a yellow-sided framed housed with a door at the left front corner and shuttered windows above it. Both structures have brick chimneys at the left end of their peaked roofs. Beyond the buildings and the tree there is a glimpse of open landscape. The painting is signed "J. Dainty" in black in the lower right corner.
