Sculpture

A figural sculpture that depicts and abstract representation of a figure emerging from a larger mass. The figure is standing sideways at the top centre of a blocky mass, its body in high relief, and its head in three-dimensions projecting from the top of the sculpture. The face of the figure is roughly formed. Surrounding the figure are smooth, solid masses with projecting rounded forms, perhaps the rocks of the title. The sculpture is roughly rectangular in shape with an uneven top edge, standing on a flat wooden base upon two short legs of the same darker wood of the base. The sculpture is of a light tan wood, finished all over with shallow chisel marks.
