Framed painting of the design for the Council Chambers at Kingston City Hall during the 1973 renovations. The image shows the circular council chambers with curving rows of chairs with the large globe chandelier that is currently in the room in the centre of the ceiling. There is an indistinguishable signature in the bottom right corner.
In the early 1970s, Kingston City Hall was closed for one year and extensively renovated. Architects for the restoration were Harry P. Smith and Neil K. MacLennan. The building cost $2.8 million to renovate and restore. Work was started in 1971 and finished during the city's Tercentenary (300th anniversary) in 1973. The official opening was held January 1, 1974.
