a- The lid of the box. It is a square plank of wood separated into 4 quadrants by shallow grooves. The top-left and bottom-right quadrants show a negative-relief design of a simple flower with 8 petals. The top-right and bottom-left quadrants show a negative-relief design of a simple flower with 4 petals. The back side had two strips of wood secured to the lid by 3 slotted screws each.
b- Part of the box walls. Two strips of softwood secured together at a 90-degree angle by finger joints. The joint edge is rounded. There is a groove running lengthwise along the inside of the panels to accommodate the lid of the box. One panel has a metal hinge attached to a round-head screw, while the other has a round-head screw sticking out of the free end.
