This is a framed coloured photograph of The Gadabouts. The photo was taken in March 1973 by W.J. Berry at McCallum Hall in Chalmers United Church in Kingston, Ontario. The women in the photo are arranged in a large group facing the camera with a seated women at the front holding a guitar. All the women are wearing old-fashioned, pioneer costumes. The photo has a wooden frame with no glass cover and is painted gold on the front. On the back of the frame, there is a taped-on paper label with information of the photo, including the title, date, photographer, location, and a list of names of the women featured in the photo.
The Gadabouts was a choir for senior citizens living in Kingston and the adjacent areas. Originally this was a singing group created by the City Parks and Recreation Department in 1968 and it evolved into a performing choir by November of that year.
